Giveaway from a.Amelia handmade at Sew, Mama, Sew!!

As is evident by my lack of posting the past few months, I have shifted focus from Zentangle to sewing.  I have had quite a bit of fun with it and have opened up shop on Etsy to sell my custom accessories.  Today I am holding my very first giveaway via Sew, Mama, Sew!  I am working on a blog for a.Amelia handmade, but in the meantime I'll use this one.

Entering is simple.  Just leave a comment below telling me what features you would like to see in a custom-made tech sleeve, and what device you would be using it for (Kindle, iPad, Nook, iPod, etc.).  Also, head on over to my Facebook page and "like" it, then let me know you did for an extra entry.  Be sure to leave your email address if you are a no reply user.

The prize is one of my new water-resistant, zip-top e-reader sleeves, which fit Kindle, Kindle Fire, Nook, and Sony Reader, among others.  It's made from a great Amy Butler laminated cotton, lined with canvas, and features a middle layer of fleece batting for extra cushioning.  Pretty fun and fabulous!

(E-reader and light not included)

One entry per person per method.  Entries will be accepted until 5pm PST on Friday, December 16th.  A winner will be drawn randomly on December 17th and notified via email.  If winner cannot be contacted within 24 hours, the next person in line gets a chance!

Be sure to head on over to Sew, Mama, Sew and enter the hundreds of other fabulous giveaways!

Congrats to lucky number 45! Hope you enjoy your new case!

  1. I think it would be nice if a sleeve had some sort of pocket that wasn't...annoying. Like, I wish I could zip my charger into an interior pocket without adding too much bulk. I always feel like I have that problem with my laptop case.

I would probably use it for a kindle, which I hope to get for college! Either that or maybe a netbook if it would fit! Those tend to be pretty small :)

  2. Very pretty! I'm not sure if this is a feature, but I'd like it to be extra padded. I am clumsy and have three kiddos, so mine gets dropped quite a bit!

    ReplyDelete
  3. I think an ipad case with some extra padding would be nice.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I love it! I like something which is padded, but also opens up to allow access to the reader.

  5. Laminated and Padded or quilted case for ipad would be nice! Thanks for the chance

  6. I just got my daughter a Kindle Fire, so she needs a case. I would like a small opening (like a small buttonhole) in the bottom so that it can charge while snug in the case.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I agree with an above poster that a hole for charging would be great. Or maybe a hole for headphones too. I would use it for my new phone if they ever start selling it... For now I would love to have your case for my Sony Ereader. Thanks so much for the giveaway!!

  8. I like the idea of having a pocket for a charger. I'd also like to see a little carrying strap. Nothing too long, just something I can put around my wrist in case I'm juggling other things in my hands.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I would like a cleaning cloth with the case, but not something you fold and that it'll be easy to loose but a clothe that is sewn in and long enough to wipe the screen and not worry that if I don't shove it in right away it would get lost. Does that make sense? Maybe like the case you are offering at this giveaway in the zipper part inside, a flap-like clothe sewn to one of the walls. That way I can pull it out but it will still stay in and I wont forget it because I need to push it in to close the case. Thank you! Sorot_or_not at Yahoo dot com

  10. The most important part of the case is being water resistant and having enough padding so that it survives being dropped. Nice design! bluevase500@yahoo.com

  11. A charging hole (as previously suggested - wish it was my genius idea!) would be great.
I'd use the case for my family's Android tablet.

  12. Love a padded & zippered case and yours is especially adorable!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I would like to see it open like a book with a small pad of paper and pencil on the other side so if I get any ideas while reading I could just jot them down.

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  16. I'd like a clear vinyl pocket on the outside, so I could put my bus pass there and not have to dig for it while using the gadget in the sleeve! :) Thank you for the giveaway, it's nifty!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Something to close it.. maybe a button or a strap, so that nothing can fall out ?! I have a kindle. Thank you for the chance to win !

    ReplyDelete
  18. How about a large funky button on a tech sleeve? Always think a fabulous button gives a clutch, purse etc a stylish edge. I love the fact that you have laminated the fabric and added cushioning. Good idea for clumsy clots like myself - I could blame the children but it's invariably me!

    Fabulous prize! Thanks! helen(at)totsdays(dot)net

  19. Agree with the previous comments that padding & water-resistant are most important. Think the idea about an attached cleaning cloth is fantastic. Separate pocket for charger would be nice. Disagree with hole for charging at base--wouldn't it overheat?

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm thinking a D-ring or fabric ring on the outside of the case would be handy, you could clip your wallet or house key or whatever to it if need be. Mine's for a Nook Color, by the way.

  21. Thanks for the giveaway! Merry Christmas!

  22. Wow- what a great gift. I LOVE my kindle. I always look for something with a pocket or two where I could put the power cord, a light, and maybe some chapstick? Pockets are very important, especially if they are zippered.

(my birthday is Saturday, and this would be such a great birthday present!)

  23. Water resistant, extra padding a wrist strap would be ideal for the Kindle I bought my daughter, who we lovingly call 'Dropsy'

  25. I would use it for my new little kindle, it goes everywhere with me. I agree with someone else who posted about having a small hole at the bottom so you could charge it in the case.

    ReplyDelete
  26. ooh! I have a new kindle that needs a case and I LOVE the fabric you used on this prize; I would really like to win! :) As for features... some type of closure (button strap or zip) is awesome to keep it in place, I love the idea of a small opening at the bottom so it can be charged while snug in the case, and waterproof exterior is FABULOUS (as often my devices are carried around in my purse along with lotion, hand sanitzer, and other "messy" items)

  27. well if it was for somthing with headphones, a little clipper to hold the cable would be nice as the cables alwazs get messed up. And for a camera I would want an extra pocket for a spare SD card and a spare battery

    ReplyDelete
  28. wow! so nice! I think a sleeve like this - but for kids - maybe a zipper or something to keep it from falling out. or extra padding...

    ReplyDelete
  29. this would be great to protect mine from little kind fingers!

  30. A pocket for knitting needles as I tend to knit from my Kindle and like to have extra circulars or scissors with me.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I need a case for my iPad 2. For sure. It's on my Christmas list but I'd like it to be handmade....with some kind of padding and a closure for sure.

  33. Maybe a headphone pocket (at least for an iPad).

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'd use it for my Kindle... A little hole for the plug in to go through, so that it can still be snug when it's plugged in!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Love it! I have a Kindle, and might be getting a Kindle Fire for Christmas. The only features I need are padding to keep it safe in my bag, and a closure of some sort to keep it in the case!

  38. I'd suggest a little place to store cards or cash... just sometimes I like to run to the store and really only want to bring my phone and credit card. It would be awesome to have a phone case with a little slot for my credit card!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I think you have an awesome case here...I think if it had a tiny pocket inside for my drivers license and car key, that would make it perfect. I love that it is laminated! Brilliant!

    ReplyDelete
  40. super cute! And also, the lime elephant little bag in your shop is too sweet! I think a zipper that goes partway down the sides would be good, along with a divider to hold any accessories without the worry of scratching. great idea to ask for ideas!! Best of luck on your ventures!

  44. I like the idea of a fabric loop or ring to attach things to the case (or to attach the case to a strap) This would work well on any of the cases... I also like previous posters' ideas about a small, flat pocket for bus passes (or a credit card, or a few coins to buy coffee :))

  45. I'm hoping to get a Kindle Fire for Christmas so I can pass on my old-school Kindle. My first response was extra padding, but now that I've read the rest of the response I love the idea of extra pockets and a carrying strap.

  49. I love any pockets or areas to stash accessories. I would probably want this for my mom's Ipad... she's in need of a sleeve !

    ReplyDelete
  50. I love the case. I think a pocket for a charger is key for any tech case. Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  51. My Nook would look lovely in that!

The one thing I always think is a requirement for my ipod case is a pocket for earplugs. I mean, if the case if adorable but has no place to put my earbuds...really, it's not terribly helpful.

Thanks for the chance to win!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I would love a little velcro pocket on the outside for headphones! I would use it for my iphone!

    ReplyDelete
  53. This would be perfect for me to win. A Nook Color is on my wish list for Christmas. Since I don't have an E-reader yet, I can't say for sure what I would want it to do. However, I would say that a zip closure would be very important!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I definitely would want some tech looking fabric. Tiny pockets for a flash disk or ear buds.

    ReplyDelete
  55. iPad case with more pockets.

  62. Looks great! I would love something similar for an iPhone. We passed our old iPhones down to our children and they use them for games. It'd be nice to have a cute case to put them in so they are easily accessible in the diaper bag rather than floating around.

  63. I like a smooth fit but not so tight that you have to fight to get it out! Thanks for the giveaway! Amy @ gasudimack(at)sbcglobal(dot)net

  64. Love this!!! As for features..maybe a tiny pocket for the charger would be good or a fabric hook tab on which to attach a carabiner so curious toddlers can't grab it off various surfaces so easily!

    ReplyDelete
  65. I like the idea of some sort of hole so it could charge while in it's case, but that would not be good for the waterproof part of it, so it would need some sort of flap. I would be using this for a Nook.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I would use it for a Kindle Fire, features I look for in a case are good padding and somewhere to put the charger! Thanks for the chance!

    ReplyDelete
  67. This would be given to my mother-in-law - we're buying her a sony reader for Christmas! I love cases with some type of accessory pouch - like a little pocket on the front to hold a charger, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Would it fit my iPad? I agree with the above, that water resistance and padding are important, since it would be bouncing around in my work bag. A little pocket would be nice.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Additional little pocket. I loves to used this for my iPad.
Thanks for the generous giveaway and a chance to win!

  75. Maybe an inner pocket to protect my kindle from anything else I might have in there.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I think a hard case would be nice to protect against dropping. I like the waterproof ones, too! I have a Kindle 2. Thank you! mamalusco at ortelco dot net

    ReplyDelete
  77. I think a little extra pocket, for a cleaning cloth or earbuds or a notepad. My daughter uses a tablet for her art work so a pocket for the light pen would be very useful.

    ReplyDelete
  78. This is awesome! I'm wishing for a Kindle this year so it would be perfect. Maybe a small outside pocket would be good like some posters suggested but I love it this way too!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Great cover! Features I would like are padding, a good closure and maybe a pocket for headphones and cords. Thanks for the great giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  80. I just got a Kindle Fire and have been meaning to make a case. I had not thought of the laminate fabric. Great idea! How about adding a window pocket for sliding in a business card in case an honest person finds my kindle at the doctor's office or playground.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Maybe something to help keep any cords (like headphones in particular) from tangling? Not sure how it would work, just the first thing that popped into my head. Would love to have this, maybe for Christmas Santa will bring me something to put in it!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Zippered pocket big enough to house the charger

    ReplyDelete
  83. I am hoping to get a Kindle for Christmas, so this is just what I need. The most important feature for me is a layer of padding. I like that you use water-repellent fabric, too. Merry Christmas!

    ReplyDelete
  84. I'd love something like this that is a)padded to protect my Nook b) kinda waterproof (great feature!!) and c)has a pocket for my iPod and/or cellphone on the outside (maybe a zippered or other closure one so it won't slip out?)

    ReplyDelete
  85. Cool! I am getting a kindle for christmas this year and was planning on making a cover for it, but this would be better. I love that the cover is water repellent because I have dribbled liquids on almost all of my electronics at some point. I would love to see a hook or a loop so I could attach it to the inside of my purse without it flopping all around.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I love it! I just got an e-reader & could really use a cute, water-proof case for it!

Thank you for the opportunity, I greatly appreciate it;)

  87. I love it! For me, I think it's important to have some really protection on the screen side of the pocket. My first kindle was broken when my dog stepped on my purse. The kindle was in its pouch, but without a real, sturdy barrier it was still vulnerable.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I would like to see a pocket for headphones

    ReplyDelete
  89. I would love an ipad pouch that had super amazing padding! And zipped closed, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I would love an ipad case for my husband. I would have to ask him what features he might find useful. THANKS!

    ReplyDelete
  91. I'm getting a Kindle for Christmas (hubby is not so good with surprises!), so I'll be looking for Kindle Touch cases! Also have an iPhone that needs a case :) What I look for are cases that are closable (i.e. zipper, button, velcro -- not just a cozy with an open top) and cases that have at least a little padding to protect. An earphone pocket for iPhone cases is a nice feature as well. Oilcloth is a great option too -- I don't see as many of those! And of course, I look for pretty patterns/patchwork/linen. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  92. I would use it for an iPad, and I think a little zip pocket for the charger, etc. would be nice.
